Ambient - a genre of experimental electronic music, characterized by a departure from a linearly developed melodic line to a loose composition of sound spots. While in other types of music the construction axis of the work is harmonic, in ambient music the song develops mainly through the use of sound colorization. The effect is a shift of pressure from the sounds progression towars the sound itself.
Jazz - a genre of instrumental and vocal music characterized by high interpretative freedom and a tendency to improvise. According to some musicologists, jazz is a form of interpretation rather than a musical style.
The term Ambient Jazz is not new, but as a rule it has been abused, indirectly used, or even absolutely misused. A significant part of the work referred to as ambient jazz was simply a relaxing jazz, electronic music with the participation of live instruments, or music described as downtempo.
Let's look once again at the simplified definitions of both musical genres, given above. It is automatically imposed that ambient jazz, to truly combine them, should have several unique features:
non-linear improvisation based on a loose composition not always associated with melodic patches
no easily definable harmonic progressions
emphasis on the use of color and diversity of sounds
We present you a record that reflects our approach to the Ambient Jazz qualities defined above. It does not include decorative music. There is also no electronic jazz, slow jazz or "easy listening" music present. The embankment of realizations from these genres is sufficiently abundant. We offer real Ambient Jazz instead.
Defining the intention always helps a lot. This is not an easy album, and it is certainly not an obvious one. Each of us is different, has different experiences and habits. We tried to deepen our experience without deepening habits. Maybe it worked, maybe not. But it was worth it.

The foundation of this record is a set of ambient works composed by Cezary Ostrowski. Ostrowski's sonic experimentation pushes boundaries and unfolds new sonic territories for his collaborators.
THMC demonstrates the breadth of Ostrowski’s interests, from abstract ambient to groove-oriented, jazz-tinged experiments.
Fortuna’s trumpet lines and treatments splinter out, with throbs and arcing lines overlapping. The trumpet takes on a drone-like texture, providing bedding for passages, augmented by piano from Dys. Things build up into organic pulses. By the end it’s like a mystery movie soundtrack.
The trio moves from whining, through pitch-shifted shards, through phasers, through insectoid flutters, to deliver something really unique.
